New York: Expectations vs. Reality

New York is an amazing city to live in and it's obvious that many (millions of) people feel that way, however that does not mean it's always perfect. I was inspired to write this post after using a Blog topic Generator which gave me the idea. In this post I''ll share a common New York City expectation frequently proven false by reality.

Let's discuss a dreamy, white winter in New York...

Expectations:

Clean, white, fluffy snow in Central Park. Ice skating at Rockefeller Center. A Rockettes show. All the Christmas trees. The trees lining the streets strung perfectly with lights. All the cliches of a New York winter.

vs.

Reality:

But it seems that when people talk about winter in New York they forget to mention a few things... Such as the bitter-cold weather, the skin-piercing wind, and the beautiful white snow - the beautiful white snow that does not stay beautiful for long - it very quickly turn to brown slush and filthy puddles. (You may want to invest in some rain boots.) But, nonetheless, winter is a special time in the city with so many fun things to do, it's something everyone should experience, (just remember to bring all your winter gear!)
